Rules of use of the US flag

The national flag of the United States is often hung not only during official events in government institutions, but also on houses, cars, windows, walls, etc.

In order to know how to properly place the cloth in different places, the US government has created Federal Flag Codetelling about when, how and in which place the flag should be placed.

When: The flag can be displayed on the street from sunrise to sunset. If you want it to flutter in the dark, it is necessary to highlight the cloth. Do not post moisture during bad weather unless it is designed for difficult weather conditions.

On the porch: The union part of the flag - white stars on a blue background - should be at the top. If the flag is mounted horizontally, the stars should be on the porch side.

On the wall or in the window: When a flag is posted on a flat surface, such as a wall, the stars should be in the upper left corner.

On the street: The flag should be flown vertically with the union portion facing north on east and west streets or east on north and south streets. The flag should not be caught on anything, so be sure to raise it to the correct height.

In the office: Attach the flag vertically so that the stars are to the left of the observer standing at the entrance. If a building has more than one main entrance, the flag should be placed vertically in the center of the hallway or foyer - with stars on the north side if doors face east and west, or stars on the east side if exits lead north and south. If there are more than two entrances, the stars should be on the eastern side.

On the vehicle: The cloth must be firmly fixed on the right side of the vehicle. Do not place a flag over the hood, on the roof, on either side, or on the back of a car or boat.

In addition, you need to take care of the cleanliness and neat appearance of the cloth.
