The facade of the cathedral and two bell towers also survived the fire, which are the tallest buildings in Paris after the Eiffel Tower. The South Tower houses Notre Dame's main bell, Emmanuel. It is unknown whether he suffered any damage.

However, whether other relics and works of art have survived during the fire is not clear.

The cathedral also had many sculptures, statues and paintings depicting biblical scenes and saints. A series of paintings, each nearly four meters high, was dedicated to the Acts of the Apostles in the New Testament, including the crucifixion of St. Peter and the conversion of St. Paul. The works are dated between the 1630 and 1707 years.

So, it is not known what happened to the fragment of the Life-giving Cross and the Nails of the Cross of the Lord.

The cathedral also has an archaeological crypt under the courtyard. It was created to protect the relics of the 19-th century, which was discovered during excavations in 1965 year. It was opened to the public in 1980 year.
