There is a virus tracking Mac users

Specialists of the American Antivirus Corporation Malwarebytes found a virus that spreads to computers with the operating system Macintosh.

He has existed for at least three years, writes Office.

Virus is called Fruitfly (“fruit fly”), it was discovered in January 2017.

The malware was found on several computers in the biomedical laboratory; it hid there from at least 2014 onwards.

Experts noted that the antivirus Malwarebytes can find Fruitflyand the company Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), released an update to protect against further spread of the virus.

But a few months later a second similar virus was found, called FruitFly 2which defies the definition of existing antivirus.

According to experts, Mushka-2 has existed for about 5-10 years and has managed to infect several hundred computers.

The main malicious function of the virus is spying on users. He knows how to monitor a person through a webcam, take screenshots, record button presses and warn a hacker about the activity of the computer owner. At the same time, the virus does not try to steal the personal data of a person, but simply watches it.

The code of the virus laid the opportunity to send the owner of the computer to its creators. In addition to the main domain, the virus has several alternatives. Former US National Security Agency hacker Patrick Wardle registered them, and the 400 infected computers immediately connected to them. He could easily have collected any data from them, but the guy preferred to talk about his discovery of the FBI.
