The US Embassy in Dushanbe suspended work due to attacks by armed men on police officers on Friday night.
“Although the significance of these incidents is unclear, other acts of violence may follow,” the embassy said in a message to Facebook. - The US Embassy is closed, employees are advised to take shelter in homes and not send children to school today. All US citizens are advised to be careful. ”
Earlier it was reported that an armed group of former supporters of the Tajik opposition had attacked the city police station Vahdat.
As a result of the incident, according to the police of the country, eight police officers were killed.
An “interception” plan was announced in Dushanbe and the neighboring city of Vakhdat. Seven people were detained, police said.
