Russian Embassy in the USA informs citizens of the Russian Federation that in the states of Washington and Alaska it will be possible to exchange foreign passports and draw up acts of personal appearance to continue pension payments.

The consular visiting session will be held from December 4 to 6 in Seattle (Washington) and on December 8 in Anchorage (Alaska). You can apply until November 28th.

How to apply for a passport

More about preparing an application and documents for a passport

Citizens of the Russian Federation who want to apply for a foreign passport must be correct, complete and reliable (paying special attention to the indication of information about the change of surname, name or patronymic in connection with their change or marriage, complete data on the place of birth, information about work experience for exactly the last 10 years) to issue an application for the issuance of a passport on an electronic service.

The scanned application in PDF format should be sent to the mailbox along with copies of Russian passports, the details of which are indicated in the application for issuing a passport, as well as a copy of the birth certificate - all pages that have marks, if an application is being submitted for issuing a passport to a child (under 18 years).

The application is filled in Russian, all addresses are indicated in Russian in the Russian format (zip code, country, state, locality, street, house, apartment). Place of work and positions, if necessary, are translated into Russian.
Passport applications are not accepted and are not considered if your foreign passport is expired and there is no document confirming your Russian citizenship (a valid internal Russian passport or there is information about the confirmation of your citizenship after an earlier verification of your application by the consular department).

After the preview and satisfaction of your application, you will be sent an e-mail message with the exact date, time and place of admission. We remind you that personal attendance, including children, is required.

Consular fee payment

A payment order (money order) issued only to RUSSIAN EMBASSY is accepted for payment:

• in the amount of $80 when applying for a passport valid for 10 years by citizens who have reached the age of 14;
• in the amount of $40 when applying for a passport valid for 10 years by citizens under 14 years of age.

Money order must be correctly filled in front of the Russian Embassy, ​​2650 Wisconsin ave. NW, Washington DC. The money order is valid for 1 year from the date of issue.

On the back of the money order, you should indicate the full name in Russian in pencil.

Sending completed passports

If you have accepted applications for a passport, you can simultaneously submit an application for sending a finished passport by mail to the specified address.

The application for forwarding the finished passport must be completed in Russian before your meeting at the consular reception. The application is signed in the presence of a consular officer.

The passport will be mailed only if a pre-paid envelope is sent by post to the consular department (only USPS with a stamped value sufficient to pay for the shipment from the consular department to the addressee, and a tracking number). The envelope must have a return address in English that is identical to that on the forwarding statement.

Registration of acts of personal appearance

To draw up the Certificate of Personal Appearance at the Consular Reception, you must submit:

• Statementfilled out and signed
• Valid Russian foreign passport

If it is necessary to indicate in the Act information on the implementation (termination) of work and (or) other activities outside the Russian Federation, one of the following documents:

• original letter from the US Social Security Administration (Social Security Administration) on the appointment and payment of social benefits (Supplement Security Income - SSI) for the current year;
• original Personal Earnings and Benefit Estimate Statement from the Social Security Administration. The certificate can be obtained by personally contacting the SSA office at the applicant's place of residence, or by sending the appropriate questionnaire (Request for Earnings and Benefit Estimate Statement) to this department by mail.

If the Statement of Personal Appearance is issued by the consular department for the first time, then you must submit documents confirming permanent residence in the United States - a US citizen's passport, or a residence permit (green card), or a certificate of naturalization, as well as documents confirming the address of residence in the territory United States (driver's license or any other ID with an address, utility bill).
