Kennedy's killer to be released early after 50 years in US prison
Serhan Serhan, a native of Palestine, may be released after 52 years in prison. He killed presidential candidate Robert Kennedy because he supported Israel. The edition told in more detail "Focus".

Robert was the brother of the assassinated President John F. Kennedy. Serhan killed him in 1968. The California supervisory board has recommended the parole of Serhan, who is serving a life sentence.
Earlier, 77-year-old Serhan was denied parole 15 times. The current decision must be reviewed within 120 days by the legal department of the council, during which the case can be referred to the general committee before a final decision is made.

Why Serhan killed US presidential candidate Robert Kennedy
Palestinian-born Serhan was convicted of the killing of 42-year-old Kennedy in the kitchen pantry of the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles, California on June 5, 1968. The shooting came minutes after the New York Senator and former US attorney general gave their speech after winning the primaries. Kennedy died the next day.

Cernan says he does not remember the moment of the murder, but shot at him out of rage, since Kennedy supported Israel. In 1969 he was sentenced to death, which was then commuted to life in prison. For the entire time in prison, according to Serhan's lawyer, he was not accused of serious violations of the conditions of detention.
Family members of the murdered senator, including his son Robert Kennedy Jr., sent letters to the parole commission in support of Serhan's release.
