Poroshenko said that the agreement with Putin Savchenko
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has agreed with the President of Russia Vladimir Putin on the algorithm for the release of Nadezhda Savchenko. This Poroshenko said today during a joint briefing with the Prime Minister of Denmark.
“Yesterday I initiated... this conversation with Putin was on my initiative, and based on preliminary developments, it seems to me that we managed to agree on a certain algorithm for Nadezhda’s release,” he said.
The head of the Ukrainian state recalled that yesterday the Goloseevsky court of Kiev Endured decision on the Russian military Alexandrov and Erofeev, which, according to him, “opens up certain opportunities for engaging the exchange mechanism.”
“Yesterday I drew Putin’s attention regarding Nadezhda’s critical health condition. We agreed that permission would be granted for the Ukrainian consul to visit Nadezhda. I also hope that Nadezhda will be given the opportunity to be visited by doctors, including German ones, since Germany provided its doctors for an independent examination of Nadezhda’s health,” Poroshenko said.
The President of Ukraine also noted that today he will hold a meeting with his mother and sister Nadezhda Savchenko.
“Based on the results of yesterday’s conversation, some changes are possible on the issue of other Ukrainian citizens, including I raised the issue of the critical health condition of Yuri Soloshenko and Gennady Afanasyev. I hope that the Russian side will demonstrate some progress,” he said.
Poroshenko also said he was ready to allocate the presidential plane in order to take Nadezhda Savchenko to Ukraine.
18 April, the President of Ukraine held a telephone conversation with the President of Russia and reminded him that Ukraine calls on Russia to immediately release the Ukrainian political prisoner, people's deputy Nadezhda Savchenko.
March 22 Donetsk City Court of the Rostov Region (Russia) sentenced Savchenko to 22 years of imprisonment in a general regime colony and a fine of 30 thousand rubles. The court called the Ukrainian woman guilty of complicity in the murder of TV journalists of the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company Igor Kornelyuk and Anton Voloshin.
On April 4, Savchenko finally refused to appeal the verdict of the Donetsk Court of the Rostov Region of the Russian Federation, which awarded her 22 to the year of the colony. The verdict against her entered into force on April 5. On Wednesday, April 6, Savchenko began a dry hunger strike.
