Poroshenko allowed to introduce foreign troops to Ukraine
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has signed a law that allows stay on the territory of the country of the armed forces of other states.
Foreign troops can be brought into the country at the request of its leadership and on the basis of a decision of the United Nations or the European Union.
As noted in the document published on the President’s website, this is how the issues of conducting an international peacekeeping and security operation in Ukraine are regulated.
Participation in such operations by the armed forces of states “that unleash armed aggression against Ukraine” is prohibited.
Kiev accuses Russia of military aggression, Moscow rejects accusations.
The law “On the procedure for admission and conditions of stay of units of the armed forces of other states on the territory of Ukraine” was adopted by the Verkhovna Rada in early June.
