A school principal has been suspended after a student dressed up as Hitler at a Halloween party. The boy, a Utah school student, reportedly threw a Nazi salute during an event. Writes about this HuffPost.

The director and teacher of Utah Elementary School were suspended from work after one of the students came in a Nazi costume during the Halloween school parade.

Parents were shocked and scared when a boy, whose name was not named, put on Adolf Hitler’s fake mustache and a red bandage with a swastika.

Parents said that the student made a Nazi salute during the parade. Both parents, who wish to remain anonymous, wonder why school officials allowed him to attend the party in such clothes.

One of the parents said that they called the school to complain the day after the party, and they were told that the student had been removed from the parade, ordered to change and said that his parents would be notified.

“They told me the school thought he was Charlie Chaplin,” the student’s mother said. — He had a swastika on his hand. The teachers should have seen her.”

The videos and images of the student’s costume attracted attention after being posted on a Facebook page. The woman who shared the photo called the costume “as funny and unpleasant as possible,” and said the boy “welcomed Hitler” right in front of “minority children who attend school.”

Davis school district apologized for the incident and said it was investigating "every aspect of the situation."

The school district “does not tolerate speech, images or behavior that depicts or promotes hatred in any form,” the statement said. “The district takes this matter very seriously and is reviewing all aspects of the situation.”

During the investigation, the school principal and teacher were sent on paid administrative leave. The school district representative refused to confirm the identity of the staff.

Creekside Elementary School is located approximately 20 miles north of Salt Lake City. More than 750 students study in it.

The United Jewish Federation of Utah said it was “shocked” that the student was allowed to participate in the parade in Hitler’s costume.

“Almost all Jews and Americans consider the symbols of Hitler and Nazism to be signs of the worst hatred, racism and crimes against humanity known to the world,” the organization said in a statement. “Dressing a child as Hitler is unbearably offensive and should never be allowed or condoned.”
