Presidential candidate Vladimir Zelensky proposes to appoint the leader of “Batkivshchyna” Yulia Tymoshenko as an “independent arbiter” at his debates with the current president, Petro Poroshenko.

“In order to avoid bribery, provocations, and administrative pressure, we propose to appoint a separate independent arbitrator and moderator for the debate. Yulia Tymoshenko, you took third place and did not support any of the candidates, can you become a guarantor of fair rules and equal opportunities in the debates? I’m waiting for a response within 24 hours,” Zelensky said in his video message.

Zurab Alasania, head of the National Public Broadcasting Company, on April 4 called Paula Kazarin and Miroslav Barchuk as potential presenters of the debate.

The leader of "Batkivschiny" Yulia Tymoshenko received 13,40% of votes.

The second round of elections will take place on April 21.

According to opinion polls conducted on the eve of the first round of elections, in the event that Vladimir Zelensky and Petro Poroshenko reached the second round, the victory was predicted for the first.
