Florida teen bitten by alligator: Brave boy himself called 911 and assured everyone he was 'fine'

A 20-year-old boy was hospitalized in Central Florida on June 13 after being bitten by an alligator. Read more about the incident told the publication NBC Miami.

Hunters were called to Winter Springs, Florida after the boy himself called 911.

“I just got bitten by an alligator,” the teenager said calmly to the 911 operator. “But I’m fine, I can walk and stand. It just tingles a little."

The neighbor, who did not want to be identified, says that this is a constant problem.

“We see children jumping into the stream from the street all the time. They swim in the water, and this worries everyone a lot,” he said.

Winter Springs Police Captain Doug Seeley reported that the boy and some of his friends were swimming. When he began to emerge from the water, the alligator bit him on the thigh.

After listening to the child, the dispatcher asked where the alligator had gone. "Don't know. I got out of the water as fast as I could."

This area of ​​Central Florida is well known for its large population of alligators. The hunters were called on the evening of June 20 and returned to the scene on June 21 to set up alligator traps in the area.

“We are not giving up - we will catch him and get him out of here. Let's make these waterways safe again,” said Jerry Flynn, alligator hunter.

After the incident, the police reported that the teenager feels well and is in a good mood.
