The United States of America is 50 of different states, 50 of different mini-states within one, 50 of different worlds, 50 of different dialects, cultures and traditions. However, newly-minted tourists, those who were lucky enough to visit the “country of dreams”, very often remain disappointed. Why?

Let's start with the main thing! The United States is not only Los Angeles and New York, gentlemen. It would seem that everyone knows such an elementary thing, but in practice 90% of tourists rush to these wonderful cities. Using the example of LA, I’ll tell you what they know, what they expect and what they actually see.

A lot of sunshine, the ocean and Hollywood are waiting from Los Angeles. Arriving, they immediately flee to the Avenue of Stars, which is the heart of the district. People do not know that Hollywood has a tendency to attract also people without a certain place of residence, who mainly settle here. And in Downant. There are two main reasons for this - a huge flow of people who can share a coin, and the subway. Metro in our city is a luxury, it is not available in all districts, and most Americans have only heard about it.

So here. There are more starless people who can easily beat their heads on the asphalt on the Walk of Stars than the stars themselves. Tourists are in shock - so, this is Hollywood! And here the most advanced begin to understand that Hollywood for an American is just a dirty area where it is better to appear as rarely as possible.

For visitors, Hollywood is a dream. Which does not dock with reality. These "stars" that are rich and famous, there, by the way, do not live. And strange people live on the street, not because the state threw them out of their homes, but because they themselves wanted it!

There are shelters, from where they regularly run away to rush under the cars and scare drivers. They are fed, in the end, they are provided with free medical care. Yes, I have a single question for the United States - and it concerns not carrying weapons and legalizing marijuana. My question is when will institutions resume their work to restore people's mental health. Forgive me all.

Then tourists go to the ocean. Santa Monica and Venice Beach. Here the picture is much rosier, but our crazy friends are still an eyesore. The ocean is almost always cold and not azure in color, sorry. If people had simply Googled three simple words first - “ocean in Los Angeles” - they would have been ready for this. And then - bam, not the Bahamas!

Few people come to the charming Marina Del Rey, simply because she is not so popular. Few people are trying to talk to the locals and understand, and what else is interesting in the city - something that is not in the guidebooks. What's next? All of the standard program: Universal, a couple of museums, Hollywood sign, Rodeo Drive.

Los Angeles is a huge city that sleeps after two nights even on weekends. Los Angeles County brings together a large number of mini-towns, which in common are called Los Angeles. Weird people, beating his head on the asphalt, there is not everywhere. Dirty streets are not everywhere. The smell of a certain type of grass is also far from everywhere. But tourists want to know exactly the places where all this is available.

The man who visited the Avenue of Stars, Santa Monica and Venice Beach, will cry to the end of his life how terrible and dirty this Los Angeles is, just because he was too lazy to show a minimal effort to get to know him better. Others take a higher and shout the same thing, but about the whole country. Visiting Hollywood, until the last day of life, foaming at the mouth, says: "The United States is not mine at all!"

By the way, many immigrants have not gone too far from tourists: they have been sitting in West Hollywood - Hollywood - Beverly Hills for years, having no idea that there are other areas. In general, I’ll tell you a terrible secret: in LA you need to look not for a place, but for its spirit. The spirit of relaxation and serenity is the essence of the city.
