Simplification of the real situation can push to the wrong decision. Other people's memoirs will not prepare for what awaits you in New York. Everything will definitely happen not at all.

If you read articles about moving to New York, then you probably should not move. Otherwise, all the information from them would already be known to you: after personal visits to the USA, from a recruiter or friends from the diaspora. Even better - if the first, second and third immediately. Otherwise, advise something difficult.

You do not leave behind a mud hut, and in front of you is not waiting for the porcelain palace. Stability? The absence of inflation in America is an illusion of people who have compared the hryvnia / ruble rate with a “stable” dollar all their lives. In fact, the US economy is jumping up and down, each time throwing millions of people to the curb.

School education is only conditional for free. There is no pension at all. Taxes are brutal, laid off instantly and without preliminary talk.

For the fifth or sixth year, most of my acquaintances acquired a green card, more or less adequate work, bought cars and even postponed something for the future. But if they made the same efforts at home, they could get more results, and much faster.

Our company moved to New York to do advertising projects on a fundamentally different level. And at the same time, a familiar Brazilian, a successful advertiser, with the same purpose moved from New York to Kiev. Which of us will be right? Perhaps both.

Something is better in New York, something worse. But worse - not much, but better - not at times.

The human psyche is very flexible. People who complain about widespread corruption in Ukraine, at the end of the year in America, incite costs so that they pay a minimum of taxes. People who wrote rassistye posts that for snowdrifts in the Kiev courtyards of the mayor need to put on the board, after the next snowfall in Brooklyn, take a shovel and rake the snow near his porch. Then they write to Facebook, what a great fitness it is.

Ridiculous generalizations are even worse. The food is tastier, people are kinder, the projects are more interesting. Because "it seemed to me like this," "I have this experience." I watched one New Yorker in a theater on Broadway hit his side with his fist on a text message during a performance. In fact, the poor man connected the hearing aid. And now what to do with this observation? To develop it into a paragraph of caustic text about how New York theater-goers hate the deaf?

The only thing that can be said with certainty: do not even think about solving internal problems with the help of relocation.
