Why you need to upgrade your iPhone now
IOS and Mac OS X have a security breach that allows them to be cracked using a single, specially crafted image in TIFF, OpenEXR, Digital Asset Exchange, or BMP.
A breach is a set of five vulnerabilities, using which a hacker gains access to a user’s password and data, as well as the ability to execute remote code on a device.
The source of the problem is Apple's algorithm for working with images. To access the graphic data, an application programming interface (API) is used in which vulnerabilities are discovered. Apple patched these vulnerabilities in the latest versions of iOS, Mac OS X, tvOS and watchOS.
To avoid the risk of hacking, users are recommended to upgrade their operating systems to the latest OS versions: iOS 9.3.3, El Capitan 10.11.6, tvOS 9.2.2 and watchOS 2.2.2.
