Why Americans are in no hurry to file tax returns
In the US, the tax season continues. According to the publication reuters.comThis year, Americans are in no hurry to report to the Internal Revenue Service.
In 2016, from January 23 to March 3, 8,5% more tax refund documents were submitted than in 2017. One of the main reasons for such slow reporting is timing. This year, the tax period will not last until April 15, as usual, but until April 18, because the deadline for accepting declarations falls on a weekend. Therefore, US residents have 3 additional days to report in 2017.
Tax consultants commented on the situation and gave their reasons for the delays. Some believe that taxpayers are simply waiting for the president's new reform. It is known that Donald Trump has promised to significantly cut taxes. However, according to experts, even if the head of the White House signs the corresponding decree, the law will come into force later and will not affect tax reports for 2016 in any way.
