Lottery winner is not given $ 5 million, as the ticket was purchased by a child

The California Lottery Commission refused to give out a 5 million dollar jackpot to Ward Thomas from Long Beach, California, because his minor son bought the winning ticket.
Now the man filed a commission in court, reports WSVN.
Son Thomas bought scratch tickets at the request of his father at a gas station in October 2016.
One of these tickets was winning.
According to the man, he confirmed the ticket at the office of the lottery company, but after two months he was denied a prize because his 16-year-old son bought it, and only adults can take part in the raffle.
Thomas also sued the store at a gas station, whose sellers did not warn him that minors could not participate in the rally, and were not asked about his age.
