'About Kyiv, Berlin, London, Washington': Medvedev threatens with nuclear strikes and Armageddon

Dmitry Medvedev, deputy secretary of the Russian Security Council, has threatened that the US and its allies will pay the highest price if Russia is forced to return to 1991 borders, reports New York Post.

“Attempts to return Russia to the borders of 1991 will lead to only one thing. Towards a global war with Western countries using the entire strategic arsenal of our state. In Kyiv, Berlin, London, Washington. For all other beautiful historical places that have long been included in the flight targets of our nuclear triad,” Medvedev wrote in Telegram.

He has made similar threats before, but critics say it is a bluff designed to extract Western concessions in Russia's war with Ukraine.

Since the invasion, Kremlin forces have annexed several Ukrainian regions that Putin claims are rightfully Russian—territories whose return, Medvedev insists, would mean the “disintegration” of Russia.

Earlier this month, Medvedev threatened NATO for their "dangerous chatter" about a potential wider war with Russia.

“The answer will be asymmetrical. To protect the territorial integrity of our country, ballistic and cruise missiles with special warheads will be used. This is based on our doctrinal military documents and is well known to everyone. And this is the very notorious Apocalypse. The end of everything,” Medvedev said on February 7.

His latest comments come amid Ukraine's recent failures in its war against Moscow.

Over the weekend, Ukrainian troops were forced to leave the eastern city of Avdiivka, which they had been fighting for for more than a year.

On February 18, Medvedev said: “So it’s better to return everything before it’s too late. Or we will return it ourselves with maximum losses for the enemy. Like Avdeevka. Our warriors are heroes!”

On February 18, US Senator Brian Schatz (D-Hawaii) warned that Ukrainian soldiers are now being forced to conserve ammunition as Republicans on Capitol Hill continue to resist increased funding for Ukraine.
