The square in front of the Russian Embassy in the United States will be named in honor of Boris Nemtsov
The Washington, DC city council unanimously decided to rename the square in front of the Russian embassy in honor of the Russian opposition politician Boris Nemtsov killed in 2014.
Renaming will affect the area between the streets of Davis and Edmunds. About it on the page on a social network Facebook wrote journalist Vladimir Kara-Murza.
“In a separate decision, the Washington City Council voted unanimously to expedite the adoption of the bill on Boris Nemtsov Square in front of the Russian Embassy,” he said.
The renaming will take effect by February 27, the third anniversary of the politician’s death.
One of the leaders of the Russian opposition, Boris Nemtsov, was shot dead 27 February 2014 year on the Big Moskvoretsky bridge, two hundred meters from the Kremlin. According to the investigation, immediate murder killer is a former soldier of the Chechen battalion "North" Zaur Dadaev.
