At the end of June, Philadelphia will host the Fairy Festival, where visitors will be able to build a fairytale city in the forest.

The Philly Fairy Festival in Philadelphia will take place on June 27. The festival will transform part of the Schuylkill Environmental Education Center into a fairytale forest, where you can immerse yourself in the atmosphere of ancient legends, writes Philly voice.

The festival will run from noon to 16:00 PM and will feature outdoor recreation, workshops, and themed entertainment inspired by nature and fairy tales.

Guests will be able to build their own fairy houses along the Fairytale Trail, where participants' work will transform part of the forest into an entire fairytale village.

People bring miniature houses made almost entirely from natural materials: branches, bark, moss, acorns, and pine cones. However, there are strict rules: valuable materials are prohibited, and it's advisable to avoid the seeds of invasive plants to avoid harming the ecosystem.

Guests don't just admire the fairy village; they vote for the best house. The winners are chosen based on the festival's results, and all participants receive souvenirs.

Other attractions include a visit to the Alchemist's Guild, where themed cocktails and mocktails will be served, as well as a Court of Food area with snacks and drinks.

A separate part of the program will be the "Invitation to Another World" route—an interactive trail with storytelling elements that will transform a walk through the center into a fairytale journey inspired by folk legends from around the world.

The festival is part of the work of the Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education, which occupies approximately 150 hectares of forests, fields, and waterways in Philadelphia. It's not an amusement park, but a fully-fledged nature preserve and educational space.

The festival will also feature live performances and games. For example, the interactive program "The Great Fairy Games," in which actors dressed as fairies will engage in a game with visitors and "study people." The program will also feature theater groups and musicians, including performers of traditional Irish music.

A separate section is dedicated to crafts. Guests will be able to participate in master classes and watch demonstrations.

The venue features a photo booth with a fairy photographer who will take Polaroids. Organizers encourage guests to come in costume—with fairy wings and wizard robes.

The festival is relatively new, being held only for the second time. All ticket proceeds go to wildlife conservation efforts.

Tickets are $20 when purchased online in advance and $25 at the door.
