The first space hotel will open in 2027: what it will have

The world's first space hotel is slated to open in 2027. The Voyager space station will be able to accommodate up to 400 guests. Writes about it Independent.

In addition to the rooms, there will be bars, restaurants and even a gym, according to the plans of an ambitious project.

The Orbital Assembly Corporation (OAC) behind the idea has announced that construction on the Voyager will begin in 2025.

“From the outset, the station will be designed to accommodate both national space agencies conducting low-gravity exploration and space tourists who want to experience life on a large space station with the comfort of low gravity and the amenities of a good hotel,” the company's website says.

The overall structure of the space station will consist of two concentric rings, of which the inner one is a special docking station, and the outer ring is the “station backbone”, providing “mounting for habitation modules, solar panels, radiators and a rail transport system.”

Attached to the outer ring, the capsules will serve different functions: some can be sold to NASA for research and training purposes, while others will provide accommodation for tourists or be used for other hotel amenities.

The rotating space station will be designed to "create different levels of artificial gravity by increasing or decreasing the speed of rotation."

For less adventurous tourists still eager to get a taste of the future, MSC Cruises announced that its new flagship, launched this year, will feature a humanoid robot bartender.

The bartender, whose name is Rob, will be part of the crew aboard MSC Virtuosa.

Rob will be stationed behind the ship's "futuristic" bar to "serve his signature cocktails, alcoholic and non-alcoholic, as well as countless personalized drinks, just like a human bartender would." The robot will have human-like expressions for a fully immersive bar experience,” the cruise line said.

The robot's presence matches the aesthetic of the bar dubbed the MSC Starship Club.

The spaceship-of-the-future lounge will also feature 3D holograms, a digital art wall and an interactive digital table.
