First part-time job for immigrants: Hertz rents cars to work at Uber

Many immigrants to the United States find it difficult to find work at first. You can make some money with Uber while you're looking for something serious. But for this you need a car, and not everyone has the money for it, and not a single bank will give a loan to newcomers in the USA without a job and a credit history. Uber and car rental company Hertz have entered into a partnership to solve this problem. Now you can work for Uber using a car rented from Hertz.

How the program works

To rent a car from Hertz to drive for Uber, you first need to create an account in the app or on Uber website and when registering, indicate that you need a car. After this, you will have the opportunity to choose to rent a car at Hertz website and schedule an appointment at your nearest Hertz office.

IMPORTANT: You must request to rent a car for a minimum of 7 days if you intend to use it to work for Uber.

Then head to the Hertz pickup location on the date and time of your choice. You can pay your rent using a credit or debit card. Rental prices for this program start at $214 per week (details below).

The minimum period for booking a car is 7 days. You will be able to automatically renew your rental every seven days, but only three times. Every 28 days, the vehicle must be returned to the Hertz rental location where you rented it for evaluation and a new 28-day contract.

Cost of renting a car from Hertz for Uber

Hertz base weekly rental rate is $214 per week. This does not include taxes, fees, gasoline and other additional expenses.

A refundable deposit of $200 is collected by Hertz when you pick up your vehicle.

Hertz requirements

To rent a car from Hertz to work for Uber, you must meet the following requirements:

• Good reputation with Hertz (if you have previously rented a car from the company).
• Age from 21 year.
• Valid driver's license.
• Valid credit or debit card.
• Availability of the amount required to pay for a weekly car rental and a $200 deposit on a credit or debit card.

Uber requirements

That work for Uber, you must have:

• the legal age to drive a car in your region;
• driver's license;
• at least one year of driving experience;
• suitable 4 door car.
