Transmits heat and movements of the lips: in China they created a device for kissing from a distance
A Chinese distance kissing device allows couples to share "real" physical intimacy during separation. It caused a stir among Chinese social media users. CNN.
Equipped with pressure sensors and mechanisms, the device is said to be able to mimic a real kiss by reproducing the pressure, movement, and temperature of the user's lips. Along with movements, the device can also transmit the sound that the user makes.
However, while many social media users saw a funny side to the device, others criticized it as "vulgar" and "creepy". Some have raised concerns that minors might buy and use it.

To send a kiss, users need to download the mobile phone app and connect the device to their phone's charging port. After pairing with their partners on the app, couples can start a video call and kiss.
According to the Chinese state newspaper Global Times, the invention was patented by the Changzhou Professional Institute of Mechatronic Technology.
“At university, I had a long-distance relationship with my girlfriend, so we only talked to each other on the phone. That's where the inspiration for this device came from,” said Jiang Zhongli, the device's lead inventor.

Jiang applied for a patent in 2019, but the patent expired in January 2023, and now Jiang was hoping that someone else could expand on and improve the design.
A similar invention, Kissinger, was launched by the Imagination Institute in Malaysia in 2016. But it was in the form of a sensory silicone pad, not realistic looking lips.
Although advertised for long-distance relationships, the Chinese device also allows users to anonymously pair up with strangers using the app's "kissing square" feature. If two strangers are well matched and like each other, they may ask to exchange kisses.
Users can also "upload" their kisses to the app for others to download and experience.
On China's largest online shopping site, Taobao, dozens of users have shared their reviews of the $41 device.
