The US military reported the death of extremist Sharaff al-Muaddam, one of the leaders of the Islamic State, who was involved in organizing the November terrorist attacks in Paris.
As stated in the Pentagon, al-Muaddam and a number of other grouping commanders were killed as a result of air strikes in Syria, inflicted by coalition troops in December.
According to coalition spokesman Colonel Steve Warren, killed on December 24 Sharaff al-Muaddam was associated with Abdelhamid Aboud, who is considered the leader of the terrorist cell that launched the attacks on Paris.
As a result of the November 13 attacks in the French capital, 129 people died, more than 350 were injured. Himself Aboud was killed during a police raid a few days later.
Warren said IS commander al-Muaddam was "actively planning more attacks against the West," but did not specify where the attacks were planned.
In total, as the US military reported, ten Islamic State commanders were killed in Syria and Iraq in December.
