The Pentagon will build camps to house immigrants at military bases
The US Department of Defense is preparing to build temporary immigrant camps at two military bases.

On this 24 June, said the head of the Department, Jim Mattis Daily Mail.
He did not mention what exactly two bases are in question, explaining that the details are still being developed, including calculations as to how many places will be needed in these camps.
Initially, the Pentagon spoke of four bases, but so far, according to Mattis, two points have been agreed.
Earlier, the Department of Defense announced that it would prepare space at military bases for 20 000 residence for unaccompanied migrant children who were detained while trying to illegally cross the border between the US and Mexico. It is not yet clear whether housing in the camp will be provided exclusively for children or whether families of illegal immigrants will also be placed there.
Mattis stressed that the situation is not unique, and immigrants were temporarily detained at military bases before.
An application for temporary asylum for illegal immigrants amid a growing number of their arrests was made to the Department of Defense by the Department of Health and Social Services (HHS), and the Pentagon accepted it.
Earlier, HHS conducted an assessment of facilities at four military bases: Air Force Base in Little Rock (Arkansas), as well as three bases in Texas: Dayes Air Force Base, Goodfellow Air Force Base and Fort Bliss.
The Pentagon said that the operation of the temporary shelters will be fully carried out by the Department of Health and Social Services, and the military will not interfere in this process.
