A pensioner from Canada won $54,5 million in the lottery: he will donate part of the money to Ukraine

Canadian pensioner Marcel Lucier, who hit the almost 70 million Canadian dollars ($54 million) jackpot in the national lottery, will donate part of the funds for the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine, reports "Ukrainian Truth".

The man also intends to donate part of the winnings to support projects that help children with autism.

“Marcel Lussier said he intends to use part of the $70 million jackpot to help rebuild Ukraine and support projects that help children with autism,” the story says.

In addition, Lucier plans to spend the funds won on a cruise with his wife. As the man said, the vacation was planned several times, but each time was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Recall that Italy will help restore the drama theater in Mariupol, on which the Russians dropped a super-powerful bomb.

According to the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy, Russia has completely destroyed or damaged at least 388 cultural monuments of Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.

At the same time, as reported by the head of the Ministry of Culture Alexander Tkachenko, Ukraine will not wait for the end of the war to start restoring damaged cultural monuments.
