Most travelers believe that representatives of the airline have the right to disembark the passenger from the plane, if its appearance is “inappropriate”.

This is evidenced by the results of a survey conducted by the site for booking tickets Airfarewatchdog.com, writes Los Angeles Times.

59% of respondents are sure that the airline has the right to refuse to fly a “wrongly” dressed passenger, 34% of respondents believe that it is impossible to restrict passengers to what they want to wear, 7% have not decided on the answer.

Representatives of the airlines say that the final decision about what is suitable clothing for the flight, and what is not, remains for the crew of the aircraft.

In May, dancer Maggie McMuffin refused to board a JetBlue plane because she was wearing too short shorts.

And she is not the first. Green Day guitarist and vocalist of the group Green Day, Billie Joe Armstrong, was withdrawn from the Southwest Airlines flight after he refused to pull up his drooping pants.

The founder of the Airfarewatchdog website, George Hobika, advises passengers not to be surprised that the aircraft crew treats them differently, depending on how they are dressed. Because many pilots and flight attendants grew up in conservative families, where short skirts and shorts are not perceived very positively.
