A couple from New Jersey, whose GoFundMe campaign for homeless hero Bobbitt collected $ 400 000, left him starving in poverty in a trailer on the driveway while they went on vacation. This was announced by the lawyer of the victim edition The Post.

Johnny Bobbit, a veteran of the Marine Corps, had to scrape the sauce from the bottom of the bottle in order to eat at least something one day. This was stated by his lawyer from Philadelphia, Jacqueline Promislo.

“They started spending money right away,” after transferring the online donations earmarked for Bobbit to their bank account last fall, Promislo told couple Kate McClure and Marc D'Amico.

“They went shopping,” the lawyer said. “[Bobbitt] told me they had a Louis Vuitton bag and Chanel sunglasses, a new iPhone 10.”

“I know they spent a lot of money,” she said. “Until we have bills, I can’t say they spent their money.” But now that they say there is no money, where is it?

The couple also posted photos on the Internet, showing their expensive holidays in California, Vegas and the Grand Canyon.

A couple from New Jersey - Mark D'Amico and Caitlinn McClure, who started a fundraising campaign for Bobbit, are now under investigation for misuse of money.

McClure and D'Amico started raising money after Bobbit gave his last 20 dollars to buy gasoline to Caitlin who was stuck on the road. The good deed of a homeless person touched the hearts of more than 14 000 people who donated money to him on the GoFundMe portal. As a result, managed to collect a little more than 400 thousand dollars.

However, Bobbit received only 75 000 dollars from this money, it was in that couple that the camper and the Ford Ranger 1999 of the year that she purchased for the homeless man cost. Therefore, he and his lawyers accused McClure and D'Amico of stealing donations. The couple argued that they did not spend the money, but did not want to give the homeless the full amount, because, because he had previously suffered from drug addiction, he could spend the money on drugs.

In early September, the court demanded that McClure and D'Amicot provide documentation confirming the availability of money and expenses made during the fundraising campaign. After that a couple stated that the rest of the money “disappeared”.

On September 6, police searched the home of D'Amico and McClure in New Jersey, seizing several boxes of evidence of embezzlement and a new BMW.

According to Fallon, GoFundMe will conduct an audit to determine how much more money Bobbit should receive, and then they will seek their payment with the help of lawyers. The couple and her lawyer Ernest Badway declined to comment.

The criminal investigation is ongoing, but no charges have been filed.

Bobbit went to the inpatient rehabilitation program on Friday, Promislo said, and he is grateful that GoFundMe promised to return any missing money. According to the lawyer, the organization has already deposited $ 20 000 US dollars to a deposit account.

The couple’s lawyer did not respond to requests for comment.
