Trump was escorted out of a coronavirus press conference by security guards on the evening of Monday, August 10, just minutes after the president began speaking. A little later it turned out that this was due to a shooting near the White House.
“There was an actual shooting and someone was taken to the hospital. I don’t know what condition this man is in,” Trump said after returning to the briefing room a short time later.
“The suspect himself was shot,” Trump explained. He said no one else was hurt, but as far as the president was aware, the suspect was armed.
According to Trump, the shooting took place outside the White House fence.
According to the report, the briefing room was blocked immediately after the president left.
