Russia approved sending Navalny to Germany: when is the transportation scheduled

The departure of the plane with Alexei Navalny to Germany will be delayed until the morning, on August 22, due to the demands of the trade union of air carriers of the Federal Republic of Germany - the pilots need rest. The oppositionist’s wife has already signed an application for his transportation.

Doctors warned Yulia Navalnaya about the possible risks, but she signed a statement about transporting her husband from Omsk to Germany for treatment.

“Yulia Navalnaya signed an application for the transportation of Alexei. She was warned of a possible deterioration in his condition. We do not yet know when the flight will take place. This is a complex process that requires both sides to agree on many points, ”the Ministry of Health said.

Representatives of the department said that doctors were ready to accompany Navalny to the airport, but at the request of the German side, the flight was delayed. “Doctors of emergency hospital №1 inform about their readiness to transport the patient to the airport. But at the request of the German medical team, the flight will be delayed until the morning of August 22. This is explained by the requirements of the trade union of air carriers of Germany, which regulate the working conditions of flight personnel, ”the department explained.

An RBC source in the Ministry of Health provided a video showing the process of discussing the plane's departure with German specialists. “His condition has more or less stabilized and they see no problem with the patient arriving at 6:30. At 8:00 the flight will take off, because again a lot will have to be reconnected, reconciled, ”one of those present says off-screen.

On August 21, doctors at the Omsk emergency hospital allowed Navalny to be transported abroad to a German clinic. Before, they said that politics cannot be transported because of its unstable state. The plane, which will take the oppositionist to a hospital in Berlin, has been in Omsk since morning. In organizing the flight, Navalny's relatives are assisted by the human rights organization Kino for Peace, which in 2018 helped bring Pyotr Verzilov from the Pussy Riot group to Germany for treatment. As reported in this organization, Verzilov asked them to help with sending a special flight. In Berlin, according to Spiegel, Navalny should be placed in the Charite hospital.

Navalny's associates insist that the politician, who had to be urgently hospitalized on August 20 during a flight from Tomsk to Moscow, was poisoned. They associate this with his political activities. In the Omsk hospital, where Navalny was taken in serious condition, they said that they exclude the version of poisoning, linking the incident with metabolic disorders. Anastasia Vasilyeva, the oppositionist's attending physician, expressed disagreement with the conclusion of local doctors, noting that metabolic disorders are a condition, not a diagnosis, and it can be with a huge number of diseases. “Again they hold us for idiots: they speak clever common words, but they cannot establish the cause of the coma and the diagnosis,” Vasilyeva expressed her opinion.
