Airbnb hosts will pick you up at your local hotel or airport and provide you with enough food and drinks for the entire trip before taking you by boat to the island.

Once disembarked, you will find yourself in complete seclusion - no tourists, no staff, just you and the fish that frequent the reef around your island. Spend a week mixing drinks at the open-air bar, taking turns swinging over the water, or traveling in single and double kayaks and paddle boards provided for your use. When it's time to take a dip in these bright blue waters, you'll want to snorkel among the colorful reefs that surround the hotel.

You need to book a minimum of four nights, but you will probably need a whole week to truly enjoy the exclusive experience. The hosts run a tour company in Placencia, so you can book excursions such as fishing, manatee watching, or exploring the ruins if you want to go off-island during your trip.

Although, it will probably be difficult to break away from an exclusive holiday in a real tropical paradise.
