Fenced off from the territory controlled by Kyiv: in the Kherson region, Russian invaders 'closed the border'
The “border” of the Kherson region captured by the Russians with territories controlled by Ukraine was closed, reports “Voice of America«.
About it сообщают Russian state media, citing Kirill Stremousov, deputy head of the occupied region, appointed by the Russian military. According to him, the ban on traveling to the territory controlled by the Ukrainian authorities was introduced for the safety of residents who are allegedly shelled by the Ukrainian army.
“Crossing the “border” from the Nikolaev and Dnepropetrovsk regions is very dangerous, given the systematic shelling by Ukrainian militants. After the latest shelling from their side, civilians who found themselves in the buffer zone were killed. Therefore, we do not recommend traveling to Ukraine at all, under any pretext,” said the deputy head of the region, Kirill Stremousov, appointed by the Russian military.

We are talking about most of the territory of the Kherson region with the regional center and about half of the Zaporozhye region. The city of Zaporozhye itself is under the control of Ukraine.
Since the start of the invasion of Ukraine, Putin and other Russian representatives have stated that his goal is not to occupy Ukrainian territory. However, in the regions of the south of the country occupied by Russian troops, administrations controlled by Russia were formed, the leaders of which began to argue that the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions should be accepted into Russia.
