The hotel in the Dominican Republic, where American tourists died, refused to mini-bars in the rooms

The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, has ditched all alcohol dispensers in in-room minibars after a string of suspicious deaths and poisonings that have occurred in Dominican Republic resorts and the hotel itself.

The hotel is also hiring a U.S. medical company to "ensure the on-site medical facility meets all international and U.S. standards," hotel officials told the publication. New York Post.

New measures were taken after reports of two tourists who died at the Hard Rock Hotel in Punta Cana last year. David Harrison, 45, of Maryland, was found dead at Hard Rock in June by his wife, who said “something green” was foaming in his mouth. “We are deeply saddened by these incidents and extend our deepest sympathies to the families of the victims,” Hard Rock said in a statement. “Although official reports indicate that these incidents are unrelated, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino has taken steps based on guest feedback to improve the experience and enhance safety in the future.”
