1. You have nothing to lose

3. Backup option in case the situation changes

Everything is complicated in the post-Soviet space now. You may not want to move at the moment, but there is no guarantee that your opinion will not change in six months when the results of the green card lottery are announced (this will be May 4, 2024). Of course, there is no guarantee that you will win either, but participation in the lottery is a starting point for creating a safety net for yourself just in case. It will work - great!
