Amazon founder divorces his wife after 25 years of marriage

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos divorces his wife, MacKenzie Bezos, after 25 years of family life. He posted the announcement today, January 9, on his Twitter account.

The couple claims that they made a joint decision and will remain friends after the divorce.

“We are incredibly happy that we found each other and are grateful for every year we have lived together. If we knew that we would get divorced in 25 years, we would still get married and go through this process. We had a wonderful family life, and we have a wonderful future ahead of us, as parents of our children, friends and partners in various projects. In any case, we will remain family and friends,” wrote Jeff and MacKenzie Bezos.

Jeff is now 54 of the year, Mackenzie is 48 of years. They met in 1993 year while working at the investment company DE Shaw. There, Jeff served as vice president, and Mackenzie - analyst. In the 1994 year, they both quit and started working together to create Amazon. The couple have four common children.

Bezos is currently recognized as the richest person in the world, his capital is $ 137 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires index. This means that this divorce can be very costly.

Mackenzie is the author of several novels, the most famous are The Pitfalls and The Luther Albright Trial.
