Syracuse Post-Standard reports that customers were able to take advantage of a bargain that allowed them to buy two Whoppers burgers at a reduced price and even get discounted french fries and drinks. This mistake cost the company $ 1,50 with each sale.
Carrols Restaurant Group CEO Dan Accordino said the initial discount was different: “two Whopper Jr. burgers for 4 dollars, two Whoppers burgers for 5 dollars and two Double Whoppers burgers for 6 dollars. ”

Customers buying these burgers had to pay the full price for fries and drinks added to the order, but mistakenly paid a reduced price.
“This is not an accounting problem, this is not a systems problem. It was a mistake. We screwed up and it cost us a lot of money,” Accordino said.
Such discounts were valid in the second and third quarters of the 2019 year, which led to a decrease in revenue by 12,4 million dollars, resulting in a net loss of the company amounted to 8,2 million dollars.
