A typical day in Texas: in Houston, a cow and an alligator block traffic on major highways

A cow and an alligator cause a delay in highway traffic in the Houston, TX area. How did the animals end up there? NBCDFW.

Around 08:00 on Highway 10 in East Houston, a walking cow stopped traffic during the morning rush hour. Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez tweeted that some even tried to tie the cow.

Later, the sheriff's livestock department arrived at the scene, which was able to load the cow into a trailer and return it to the owners. The cow, which by the way did not suffer, ran away from the nearest farm.

A few hours later, an 8-foot (2,5 m) alligator found itself on the side of a busy bridge along Highway 146 near the Houston suburb of Baytown, writes People.

Because of this, one lane was blocked. Several officers, including those from the Texas Department of Parks and Wildlife, wrapped a rope around the reptile's neck. After a short resistance from the traffic offender, the officers tamed the obstinate and sealed his mouth.

The recording of this intriguing meeting shows several police officers and an animal control representative holding the creature in order to move it to a safer location.

The alligator was placed in the back of a truck and taken to the nearest waterway, where the reptile was released. This waterway was located directly under the bridge - it was a small tributary that connected to the navigable canal.
