New York is the second city in the United States for the number of single people

The word “loneliness” carries a negative connotation, but many lonely Americans, young and not very well, feel fine, not being in a formal marriage or in a romantic relationship. Moreover, the best for bachelors and freedom-loving unmarried ladies live in large cities with lots of entertainment and rich cultural events life.

The largest single Americans, according to a recent survey of the portal Rent.com, live in San Francisco, California. There are unmarried people and relationships, as many as 39%. Manhattan, the most chic, expensive and famous district of New York, is not far from San Francisco with 38% of single residents.

Experts defined the concept of “single” as someone 20 years of age or older, unmarried or in a long-term romantic relationship, divorced or widowed. It turned out that there are currently 494 people living in Manhattan who fall into this category (in total, the population of this island is 899 people). Such people, by the way, are more likely than others to rent housing with their neighbors.

According to a survey conducted among users of the site, Manhattan was ahead of all other places in the United States in choosing “restaurants and coffee shops” and “nightlife”, gaining more than 781 points from 1000 on these points. All this, as well as a rich cultural life and a healthy labor market, attract young and free men and women to New York.

However, when getting carried away by going to nightclubs and bars, New Yorkers need to be careful: according to the same survey, the crime rate in the city was estimated at 822 out of 1000 - a fairly high figure for the country.
