25 June, US First Lady Melania Trump announced that her speaker, Stephanie Grisham, will replace Sarah Sanders, the outgoing press secretary for the White House.

“I am pleased to announce that Stephanie Grisham will be our new Press Secretary and Director of Communications! She has been with us since 2015—the President and I cannot imagine a better person to serve the administration and our country. Glad to have her working for both wings of the White House,” Trump tweeted.

Grisham has extensive experience in campaigns of the Republican Party, including in the presidential campaign of Mitt Romney in 2012, writes New York Post.

She joined Trump's campaign as a public relations assistant in 2015 and became the first lady representative from 2017.

Sarah Sanders has not held press briefings since March 2019, disrupting the longstanding traditions of the presidential administration, according to which, the briefings were held much more often than once every few months.

It is not yet clear whether Grisham will revive regular press conferences, which often took place daily during the work of previous presidential administrations.
