The future first lady was born on January 6, 1958 in Kaliningrad, her father was a factory worker, and her mother was a cashier. Since childhood, Lyudmila dreamed of becoming an actress and even attended a drama club.

The sisters graduated from a private gymnasium with in-depth study of the German language in St. Petersburg, and in 2000 they switched to home schooling. After graduating from high school, both entered St. Petersburg State University. When Putin came to power, Lyudmila tried her best to avoid attention. The exceptions were the measures provided for by the protocol.

Publicly, she always supported her husband, although at the time when Putin was the head of the FSB, she said the following in an interview with journalists: “It's terrible. We can no longer communicate with each other. Terrible isolation. There will be no more opportunity to travel where we want, no more opportunity to say what we want. And I just started to live.

The relationship of the spouses was clearly imperfect. Lyudmila told how she hailed a taxi to get to the hospital during contractions, while Putin was on a business trip. The woman wanted to name her daughter Natasha, but the man sternly announced that the girl would be called Masha.

“I was in tears. But then I realized that there was no choice in this matter, and the daughter would be Masha, ”she said.

Putina also said that when Putin worked in the KGB, he raised his hand to her and he had extramarital affairs.

“All my activities and work are connected with publicity, with absolute publicity. Some people like it, some don't, but there are people who are absolutely not compatible with it.
