German television channel ARD announced the film, where, in particular, it is argued that the Minister of Sports of Russia, Vitaly Mutko, was personally involved in hiding information about the use of doping by one of the players in the Russian Premier League.

In addition, in the film, which will be aired on the evening of June 8, they promise to provide evidence that the Russian coaches, who were suspended because of the doping scandals, continue to work with the athletes.

In response, the Russian Ministry of Sports released a statement claiming that a number of steps had recently been taken to completely overhaul the Russian anti-doping system. In particular, doping testing of Russian athletes is now almost entirely carried out by foreign specialists.

Comment on the accusations against Mutko in the ministry did not.

After the release of the film, the World Anti-Doping Agency commission conducted its own investigation and revealed systematic violations related to the use of prohibited drugs by Russian athletes with the active support of coaches and officials.

As a result, Russia was suspended from competition under the auspices of the International Association of Athletics Federations.

The next round of the Russian doping scandal followed in May. Former Head of the Moscow Anti-Doping Laboratory Grigory Rodchenkov saidthat during the Olympics in Sochi, dozens of Russian athletes, including gold medalists, used doping.

In mid-May, IOC President Thomas Bach allowed the opportunity removal of the entire Russian team from participating in the 2016 Olympics of the Year in Rio de Janeiro due to a doping scandal.

In an interview with BBC Radio 4, Acting Director General of the Russian Anti-Doping Agency RUSADA Anna Anceliovich said that such a decision would be unfair to those athletes who did not use doping.

She also said that she didn’t know that the doping sample fraud was organized with the support of representatives of Russian agencies and special services, and added that Rodchenkov is not related to the activities of RUSADA.

In turn, Natalya Zhelanova, adviser to the Russian minister of sports on anti-doping, didn’t answer the question from journalists about involvement in the doping scandal of the special services.
