New details of Baldwin's murder of a Ukrainian woman: according to the script, the actor should not have shot at all in this scene

Rust script assistant Mamie Mitchell has filed a lawsuit against producer and actor Alec Baldwin, who accidentally shot cameraman Galina Gutchins during filming. She says that according to the script of the picture in this scene, Baldwin should not have fired a revolver, пишет with the BBC.

In a lawsuit filed by the woman against Baldwin and other producers, it is indicated that in this scene the group had to shoot three big shots: the actor's eyes, the blood stain on his shoulder, and also "the moment when he lowers his hand into the holster and draws a revolver." ...

"There is nothing in the script that the defendant or anyone else was supposed to fire the revolver," Mitchell's lawyers said.

This is the second lawsuit directly against Baldwin in connection with the death of Galina Gatchins, a Ukrainian-born operator. Previously the actor was sued by the head of the lighting team on the set Sergey Svetnoy... He, like Gatchins, is Ukrainian.

Svetnoy claims that the bullet that killed his girlfriend almost hit him. According to the plaintiff, the cause of the tragedy was the negligence of the members of the film crew, who were responsible for the safety of the weapons that were used during the filming.

Earlier, Baldwin posted on his Instagram statements by some members of the film crew that security measures were observed on the set and there was no chaos there. The statement, which Mitchell stated in her lawsuit, has not yet been commented on by the actor.

At a press conference about Mitchell's lawsuit, her lawyer Gloria Allred called Baldwin's behavior negligent and accused him of not following safety precautions.

"Probable result"

According to information sounded in the courtroom, assistant director David Halls handed the weapon to Baldwin, not knowing if it was loaded with a live round. However, he said that the revolver is "cold", that is, it can be safely used on the set.

As Allred said, Baldwin "decided to play Russian roulette and fired his pistol without testing it himself or asking a weapons specialist to do it in his presence."

The lawyer believes that such a series of mistakes led to a situation in which "the likelihood of injury or death increased very significantly, this was the likely result."

US police are continuing to investigate the shooting on the set that took place on October 21. No one has yet been charged in this case.

In the lawsuit Mamie Mitchell says that at the time of the fatal shot, she was sitting at a distance of less than 1 meter 20 centimeters from Baldwin.

“Over and over again I relive the moment of the shooting and hear the sound of the shot,” laments the director’s assistant.

Halls, who handed over the prop weapon to Baldwin, later told investigators that he did not fully check the barrel of the revolver before handing it over to the actor.

Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, in charge of the weapon, said she did not know how the live round ended up in the pistol on set. On the set, the revolver was kept in a safe, to which only a few people had access, she said.

After the tragic incident, Hollywood filmmakers wrote an open letter demanding that the use of real firearms be prohibited on the set.
