New unlock function will appear on Android smartphones

Fingerprint scanning will soon become an available feature on Android. Very soon, unlocking phones using PIN codes will be a thing of the past - Google will introduce a new device authentication using fingerprints.

The new feature will allow users, above all, to enter supported applications with a fingerprint, instead of a password. Also, experts believe that the developers are trying to do everything possible so that users can use the same method to unlock the device.

Fingerprint scanning, based on technology for smartphones, is gradually becoming an indispensable element. Apple and Samsung are already offering fingerprint capabilities for a variety of products, including the iPhone and Galaxy 6 S6. The main reason for this approach, developers say, is improving security, but there is also a big element of convenience. It is enough to put your finger on the sensor, and not to enter complex passwords that you need to constantly remember.

Most likely, Google will implement a system for working with prints, similar to that used by Apple - the “mathematical representation of a fingerprint” is stored on secure chips that are closed to applications and the operating system.
