Storm winds can cause an unusually large number of trees to fall in areas of the Central Atlantic and southern New England. The strongest gusts will reach from 50 to 65 miles per hour (80-100 km per hour), perhaps they will break trees and power lines.
The Meteorological Service said the storm should leave the United States on February 7 in the evening. But another weaker storm from February 8 to 9 will bring a little snowfall in the Appalachian and Mid-Atlantic regions.
In North Carolina, where the winter storm had already begun, there were the most blackouts as of noon. Without light, 136 homes are now. Florida, South Carolina, and Virginia also reported widespread outages.

On Thursday evening, Virginia Governor Ralph Northam declared a state of emergency due to heavy rains and severe flooding. The statement said that more than 500 people in southwest Virginia were evacuated by the flood.

A winter storm brought snowstorms to some southern regions. On February 6, at night, slightly less than an inch (about 2 cm) of snow cover was recorded by employees of the National Meteorological Service office in Memphis, Tennessee. Snow also fell in parts of northern Alabama, including Huntsville.
