Passenger plane crashed in Russia: injured spinal fractures

After takeoff, the An-2 aircraft in Magadan (Russia) began to lose altitude, after which it made a hard landing, hitting the ground. The plane carried out a flight along the route Magadan - Seymchan and transported shift workers. Writes about this RBC.

Edition Interfax indicates that as a result, the plane crashed from a height of about 10 m. According to the agency, there were 12 passengers and two crew members on board.

Later, the regional department of the Ministry of Emergencies (EMERCOM) reported that as a result of the incident, seven people suffered various injuries that did not threaten life. At the same time, all 14 people were taken to the Magadan Regional Hospital for examination.

Agency interlocutor «РИА Новости» in the regional department of the Ministry of Emergencies reported that the car of the center for disaster medicine took away the victims.

A source of Interfax reported that the crew’s error and technical malfunction are considered as the main versions of the incident.

According to him, doctors have already examined ten people, five of whom, after examination, were hospitalized with compression fractures of the spine. Their condition is assessed as moderate, one of the patients - as moderate. Two more victims are being examined, the rest (five more) were allowed to go home after the examination, Chekanov added.
