In May, the number of jobs in the United States rose sharply: the most sought-after areas
In May 2020, more than 1,3 million workers returned to places of public catering, the number of new jobs increased sharply and unemployment fell, writes Fox News.
The U.S. economy added a staggering 2,5 million jobs in May, while unemployment fell to 13,3%, the Department of Labor said Friday May 29, pointing to faster than expected recovery from an unprecedented quarantine due to coronavirus.
“Today was a shocking number of jobs, and for the first time this year it was a positive shock,” said Chris Zaccarelli, chief investment officer of the Independent Advisor Alliance. “It’s very encouraging to see that employers are remembering workers and the unemployment rate fell in May.”

According to the report of the Department of Labor, the greatest successes were in the leisure and hospitality industry, which added 1,2 million jobs in May. In April, the industry, the hardest hit by the virus epidemic, lost 7,5 million jobs.
More than 1,3 million people returned to the food service industry, another sector devastated by the pandemic, as states gradually allowed “nonessential” businesses to reopen. However, the hotel industry remains slow to recover, with the industry losing another 148 jobs last month.
“These improvements in the labor market reflect the limited resumption of economic activity that was curtailed in March and April due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and efforts to contain it,” the department said in a press release.
In May, 464 new jobs were added to the construction industry, and trade, transport and utilities created a whopping 000 new jobs. Car dealers added 368 jobs.
Education and health care added 424 jobs, of which 000 were in medical care. Dentistry added 312 jobs as clinics reopened. There are 400 places available in the child care sector - schools are still closed. Hospitals lost more than 244 jobs.
