USCIS Extends Response to Inquiries and Notifications: What Immigrants Need to Know
The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services announced in a press release that during the COVID-19 pandemic, measures were being taken to assist applicants and petitioners who respond to Requests for Evidence — RFE) or Notice of Intent to Deny (NOID) dated between March 1 and May 1, 2020.
For applicants and petitioners receiving an RFE or NOID dated between March 1 to May 1, 2020, USCIS will consider any responses before any action is submitted within 60 calendar days after the response deadline specified in the RFE or NOID.
USCIS takes a series of measures to protect its employees and the community as a whole, as well as to minimize the immigration consequences for those applying for immigration benefits during this time.
The Citizenship and Immigration Services will provide further updates as the situation develops and will continue to follow CDC guidelines. Information and precautions are the strongest remedies against the infectious disease COVID-19.
