An incredible meeting: a woman helped a drug-addicted homeless person, and after 14 years they saw each other again

14 years ago, Jeanne Nomelli helped a drug-addicted homeless man, they made friends, but one day he simply disappeared. What was her surprise after so many years to see him in the supermarket. Jeanne wrote about this on her page in Facebook.

“This is Will. 14 years ago he was homeless and addicted to heroin. We met while he was rummaging through a dumpster looking for recyclables. I asked him what prompted him to do this and he said that his wife died unexpectedly, and after her death he tried heroin and became addicted,” writes Zhanna.

But Jeanne decided to help the man and they made a strong friendship until one day the man disappeared without explaining anything.

“He lost his home and his job as a result of his addiction. Within a few months, Will and I became friends. We helped each other in difficult times, gave advice and shared life experiences. Then one day he left! I never saw him again... over the years I wondered what happened to him. I wondered if he was even alive,” Nomelli continues.

“God allowed our paths to cross again. He was waiting for me near the toilet in the supermarket. He stood there with tears in his eyes and asked if I remembered him. It took me a couple of seconds and I knew it was my Will,” the post says. “He reminded me nostalgically of the pair of boots and jacket I gave him to keep him warm. I also gave him $7 so he could get an ID. He promised that he would not spend it on drugs. And he kept his promise."

The man not only kept his promise, but also got a job and a family.

“He got his ID card and got a job, and later got married. We stood and cried in the middle of the store, and then asked the consultant to take a photo of us,” writes Zhanna.

“I want to share this story so everyone knows that kindness is important. It can change the whole world for someone. You may never know it, but Will is proof of it! Be kind in everything you do!” the woman concluded her post.
