German court allowed Russian bikers to enter the country

Berlin court overturned entry ban for a group of Russian bikers who were going to celebrate the 70 anniversary of victory in World War II with a motorcycle race through the German capital.

In April, the German federal police refused entry to representatives of the pro-Kremlin movement Night Wolves after their plans were condemned. Previously, Poland denied entry to the country.

However, the administrative court of Berlin on Wednesday ruled that the police had no sufficient reason to believe that the Russians were a threat to public order, internal security or international relations.

Thus, the court ruled that their visas issued by Italy for the free movement of countries of the Schengen agreement are valid for Germany.

The decision of the court may be appealed.

Two weeks ago, Polish authorities stated that will not let "Night wolves" in the country. Representatives of Warsaw called provocation their plans to drive through Poland to celebrate the anniversary of victory in World War II.

Many Poles are suspicious of the Night Wolves due to the fact that the pro-Putin bikers opposed the Ukrainian government and solemnly celebrated the Russian annexation of the Crimea.

“Night wolves” want to drive through Eastern Europe to honor the memory of Soviet soldiers who died when they fought against Nazi Germany together with the Western allies.

They planned to visit burial sites and other memorable objects associated with the war. By May 8 they planned to come to Berlin to take part in ceremonies on the occasion of the 70 anniversary of the end of the Second World War in Europe.
