Illegal committed suicide in an immigration prison because he was separated from his family

39-year-old Honduran citizen Marco Antonio Munoz committed suicide in a Texas jail because he was separated from his family. Writes The Washington PostThe authorities did not report the incident publicly.

According to the newspaper, a man was found on May 13 on the floor in a cell in a pool of blood, cloth from clothes was pulled around his neck.

The incident occurred shortly after the administration of Donald Trump began to apply measures of "zero tolerance" in relation to illegal migrants. Among the new measures - the separation of children and their parents for all who illegally enter the territory of the United States.

Most criticized this measure because it could affect children, but few spoke of the psychological impact on parents.

Representatives of the US Customs Service did not answer the question about the location of his wife and children Muñoz. They also refused to provide a copy of the autopsy report and did not provide additional information about the cause of death.

It is known that Munoz, together with his wife and three-year-old son 12, crossed the US border near the small town of Grangeno, Texas. This is a fairly popular item among migrants who want to apply for asylum.

After the family was arrested, they were taken to the nearest town of McAllen, where they said they wanted to apply for asylum. Border service officials told them that their family would be divided, and at that moment Muñoz lost his composure.

“He lost his composure. They had to use physical force to snatch the child from his hands,” said one of the agents, speaking on condition of anonymity.

The man was put in a local prison, Munoz tried to escape, but failed. All day the man behaved aggressively.

Prison guards say they checked his cell every 30 minutes and saw him sitting in the corner praying. The next morning at 9: 50 one of the guards found him dead.
