The real Lassie: in New Hampshire, a dog led the police to the injured owner, which saved his life

In New Hampshire, the Tinsley Dog brought police to his master, who was injured in a car accident and needed urgent help. Writes about it CNN.

Tinsley got the attention of the New Hampshire State Police (NHSP) when they answered a call about an abandoned dog at the Veterans Memorial Bridge, which crosses the New Hampshire-Vermont border on I-89.

Tom Sandberg and Lebanon Police Department officers discovered a large dog that looked terrified, Lt. Dan Baldassarr said.

“We tried to get the dog off the highway,” he said.

Sandberg and the police tried to get close to the dog, but she started to run and then stopped and looked at them, trying to get their attention.

“The dog was standing at the top of the embankment and looking down,” Baldassare said.

The officers noticed the damaged part of the fence, and when they looked down, they saw a badly damaged pickup truck that capsized, NHSP public information officer Amber Lagas said.

According to Lagas, the two men flew out of the car and suffered injuries and hypothermia.

Sandberg and the officers called for medical attention, and, on the spot, they learned that Tinsley belonged to one of the wounded.

“It was almost like a real-life Lassie situation,” Baldassare said. - This is really wonderful. This dog definitely saved their lives. I don't think they would have survived."

Both men were taken to hospital for treatment.

“She’s my guardian angel,” Tinsley’s owner, Cam Landry, said. “It’s a miracle.”

Landry described Tinsley as his best friend and said that they regularly traveled together in the crashed pickup truck.

According to him, her heroism has been rewarded.

“She gets pampered all the time,” Landry said. “She’ll have some venison tonight and then probably a burger, and then she’ll get as much back scratching as she wants.”
